So I have kept it a bit of a secret until now but surprise... I am in Thailand. I am going to be here for the next 8 days for some r&r and to have some fun with the camera. I flew in last night and this morning I was so excited to look out my balcony window and see one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen. I snuck out early before any of the other guests awoke and went for a wander with the camera.
It really is quite beautiful here.
Not long ago I was asked to quote on shooting some hotels and now here I am shooting in a beautiful resort and getting the chance to explore yet another amazing place. It seems that the Universe has all kinds of answers to my prayers in store for me this year and this is just the beginning.
After a busy season moving and settling in to my new home what better way to start the year than to be physically, mentally and spiritually refreshed. There is something about this place that feels incredibly healing to me. I was so relaxed today lying under the palms, listening to the waves and feeling the warmth on my skin that I swear I could have almost floated away.
I was worried about how I was going to afford this trip. Even as I stepped off the plane I was worrying about all the things that would need to be done when I got back to make sure that work was keeping me housed and fed when I was reminded of a story. A guru was asked where he would find the money he needed to build a temple he was planning and he replied "from wherever it happens to be in that moment".
Moments like these are priceless. In fact all moments are priceless. We often get caught up in the stresses of everyday life and forget that.
Moments like these should be enjoyed because in the great scheme of things our troubles really are insignificant.
Think about it for a moment,
take all of time. Imagine all of eternity stretched out before you and all of eternity stretched out behind you. Multiply that by a zillion zillion and then imagine an eternity more on top of that...
all of a sudden our problems seem entirely insignificant don't they. When you consider the scope of your eternal being then there really must be something far more important and far more interesting going on.
So for now I am going to sit and enjoy this single precious moment, and the next, and the next and leave my troubles to the Universe to sort out because I know it has never let me down before.
