I always thought i'd wait 'til I had a boyfriend, so I could say to my parents 'I'm in a relationship with a guy' rather than a blunt 'I'm gay', but after reading a post by Davey the other day he said to never do this. Thoughts ?

I agree with Davey Wavey.

Coming out is empowering but remember that you are not the only person who is effected by this. Your parents may not be ready for such a large statement straight away. They may need time to adjust. They will have questions and fears of their own and I would suggest that you need to take the time to allow them to explore those with just you before you bring a third party into the picture.
