Good Bye America
Well last night was the final night of my trip. After a busy week getting ready for the pride events and doing some photography it was nice to let of a little steam and have a few drinks. We all took a limo into town and went to "Level" which is a really fun place to hit on a Sunday night. After enjoying many drinks and a lot of very bad Karaoke I stumbled in to bed at about 4 am.
Now I have packed my bags and in a few short hours I will start the journey home. It's been a great adventure and one that I will continue to write about for a while. The people here in Colombus have been warm and friendly and I have been made to feel very welcome here. With the exception of the crazy Christians and their wacky signs at Pride everyone here has been wonderful.
Thank you to all the people who read the blog that came down to the booth and said hello. It was really awesome to meet you and to get a photo with you. I hope that you had as much fun at pride as I did.
I am saving a talky blog for when I am a little less hung over. I am going to sleep well on the plane I hope.
I have learnt a lot on this trip about myself and about people. Chicago was so much fun and New York is amazing. I can't wait to come back. I think I have definitely caught the travel bug now and I am looking forward to getting home and planning my next trip, big or small. I also can't wait to see "A". I miss him so much right now. I wish he could have made the trip with me. I will just have to come back with him.
Another highlight of the trip was getting to meet Brett Swanson. He is a great guy and good for a laugh. We had a lot of fun working together. By the end of the trip I had all the guys saying "cheers mate" and other assorted Aussie slang. It's interesting how quickly you start to pick up the local language. I even caught myself a few times thinking or saying things in an American accent.
So thats it for now. Time to go grab my last meal in the States and then get on down to the airport. I hope you are all enjoying the trip with me. There is more to come I hope.
